Before BeerpongMe could become a reality, there was a lot of groundwork to lay in setting up the business. The process started with registering the company, which involved choosing the right business structure and completing various forms. While it wasn’t overly complicated, it required careful planning and attention to detail to ensure everything was set up correctly.
Once the business was registered, I turned my attention to taxes. Understanding VAT and other tax obligations, especially when operating across multiple countries, was a challenge. Consulting a tax advisor helped me navigate the process and ensure compliance with regulations for in-app purchases and PayPal payments.
Another key step was opening a business bank account. This was essential to keep personal and business finances separate and to integrate payment gateways into the app. While finding a bank with favorable terms took some time, it was worth the effort for long-term clarity and ease of management.
Legal documents like Terms & Conditions and a Privacy Policy were also a priority. Writing these required balancing legal accuracy with user-friendliness, especially given the app’s handling of user data and payments. Ensuring GDPR compliance was crucial, and I took care to cover every necessary detail.
Finally, I designed professional invoices to document transactions properly. This step might seem small, but it’s essential for building trust with users and staying organized when it comes to tax reporting.
The whole process of setting up the business took time and effort, but it created a strong foundation for BeerpongMe. With these formalities complete, I was finally ready to shift my focus to building and improving the app itself.
Greetings Lorenz 🙂
